| Further information: This variety produces aromatic, smooth and elegant wines evoking fruit and with delicate floral notes and balsamic touches. They easily reach 12 - 13.5º alcohol content, compensated by a total acidity of between 5.5 and 7 g/l expressed as tartaric acid, making them fresh, balanced, flavourful and unctuous.
Monovarietals of Treixadura can be found in the Ribeiro, but the majority of producers opt for a blend of various native varieties in which Treixadura predominates. Such blends epitomise the richness of this unique region, where vineyards work in balance and harmony to produce original and distinctive wines. The wines in which Treixadura predominates normally age well at least up to 2 years from the grape harvest. |
